What is a Halo?
The term ‘halo’ is mentioned a lot regarding engagement rings. Confusingly, there are a few different types of halos that can be incorporated into your ring!
First up is the incredibly popular hidden halo – a design feature where the gallery rail that forms part of the basket securing a stone is lined with small stones. Not visible from directly above the ring, a hidden halo adds a touch of sparkle from a side view.
There are two different options with hidden halos: a traditional hidden halo and a wrapped hidden halo. A traditional hidden halo is where the claws go over the halo, which offers a more subtle feature. A wrapped hidden halo is where the halo wraps over the claws, resulting in a more prominent addition.
Next is the halo – this refers to a style of ring where the centre stone is surrounded by a ‘halo’ of smaller stones, often round in size. A halo can be added to just about any shape or cut of moissanite, and is a beautiful feature paired with or without a pavé band. We have a range of Signature Halo rings available to order.
You can also choose a double halo where there are two halos of smaller stones around the centre stone, like our Esta Ring, or there’s a more abstract halo like our Carmen Ring. Plus, we can always combine elements from different rings to design your perfect forever ring, via our Complete Custom process.
Halos are a beautiful way to add a little extra glitz and glamour to your moissanite engagement ring.
